What the buyer describes

This Request for Supplier Qualifications (“RFSQ”) is an invitation by the City of Brantford (the “City”) to prospective respondents to qualify in accordance with Evaluation of Responses (Part 2) for eligibility to provide general contractor services for Lorne Bridge rehabilitation as further described in the RFSQ Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”). The City of Brantford seeks to prequalify General Contractors with the appropriate experience, capacity, and qualifications to provide construction services for the Lorne Bridge Rehabilitation (Colborne Street crossing of the Grand River). Also included is the rehabilitation of the pedestrian tunnel immediately west of the bridge as well as the rehabilitation of retaining walls at the east end of the bridge. Prequalified contractors will be invited to bid on the project once the list of prequalified contractors has been determined through this solicitation process. The City anticipates issuing the solicitation to prequalified contractors in November, 2026 and the work to commence in March 2027 and to be completed by November 2027. The City has obtained permits from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Transport Canada (TC) as part of the Navigation Protection Program, and the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA). Copies of these permits have been included with this RFSQ. The successful Contractor will be required to comply with the conditions of these permits.
