Alternative Solution Application for OBC 7.1.2.4.(2). The proposed plumbing design includes sanitary drainage and domestic cold water piping crossing the demising wall between adjacent dwelling units. Strict compliance with OBC Division B, Sentence 7.1.2.4.(2) is not practical due to the layout of the building and the location of the plumbing fixtures. This Alternative Solution proposes the following compensatory measures:Additional sanitary cleanouts on both sides of the demising wall;Enclosing the domestic cold water piping between adjacent units within a fire-rated enclosure from the water meter room to the demising wall; Providing flood leak detectors at the basement floor drains;All measures are shown on the revised plumbing drawings prepared by YMSD Consulting, issued in response to City comments
